Macro Monday

Look at those eye lashes (click to biggify).

Napping out in the yard over the weekend.

I love how their heads start drifting back, back, back and then down they go :-).

Taking time to let Blossom take a "normal" lamb with momma nap out in the grass and sunshine is eating up any (sort of) free time I have, so I'm way behind on, well, everything. I think it's important though to give my bottle babies a (sort of) normal life and they're only babies for a few weeks. Gasp.

Sunday Stills - Beast Or Beauty

Take something bad and find a way to make it look good/find some beauty in it – at least photographically. Like an invasive weed, dusty cupboard, scummy pond, flies…

Dirty dishes - the measuring cup for Blossom's ba-bas :-).

Dusty piano. Very sad. A piano should be used enough that it's never dusty :-/.

Cobwebs somewhere in the house, not saying where, but the potential house guest list is dwindling, eh? ;-)

More cobwebs in the house. Apparently dusting is like shearing - should probably be done at least once a year. Who knew...

Weeds in the yard.

Weeds in the garden.

Weeds in a tree.

And baby 'teefers', just because there's nothing much cuter than some baby 'teefs' :-D.

For more beautiful Sunday Stills...

Epilogue

We buried Miss Ewenice out back on the hill next to Miss Aria. There was a mix up at the rental shop and Saint Tim had to hand dig her grave. It was late and we were a mix of tired, sad, mad and numb. Afterwards I finished up the nightly chores, gathered up Blossom, a couple coffee cups and my camera that I had accidentally left in the barn (!) the night before and we slowly headed for the house.

The sun was setting and the yard was all in shadow. We have had such beautiful skies and sunsets all spring and I turned to look over my shoulder to look...and saw it. One remaining patch of sunlight. The only patch of sunlight in the entire yard. Under Renny and Ewenice's favorite tree.

And I took one last picture.

The Sheep Queen

I took this picture from up at Stella's last weekend. I thought it was so pretty, looking down on Miss Ewenice out in the yard. And I wanted to always be able to remember.

It was an honor, my dear friend.

Each One Teach One

"This is how you eat grass, Blossom."

But she doesn't need any lessons in napping ;-).

"Just so long as you stay over there and stop climbing on me, you little brat."

Ewenice is down again :-/. She's able to get up with some help and hobble/hop out to her favorite shade tree if we support her. Blossom aggravating her some this afternoon was actually probably a good thing. At least we know she hasn't given up ;-).

I blacked out the messy background on this picture thinking it was cute of Blossom doing a little weed eating around the garden. Just for fun ran a PW action on it and it became a kind of neat picture I think.

Blossom Bouncing

iPhone

Not the greatest video, but one that will make your face go :-). I especially love the sideways buck where her back leg swings out to the side :-D.

I need to get a "I can run really fast!" video.

Always A Day Late...

Wouldn't this have been cute for last Sunday's photo challenge (Reflections).

I'm having trouble getting my challenge for this week done. I need sunlight...but I'm not complaining one bit about a cool, rainy day ;-).

A Step Up

I think I mentioned before that stone work is like tattoos. Once you get one, you've got to get more. I don't have a tatt, but seriously, have you ever seen anyone with just one?

Cecil and Rigoberto Aguilar of Aguilar Stone Masonry were out earlier this week building a couple special projects for us. Blossom quickly signed on to help.

She loved watching Rigoberto and the noise didn't bother her one bit. Heavy machinery and lots of noise? She's there!

But by the end of the day, she was pretty tuckered out.

So what were they building? Well, I was going to title this post "Growing Old In Style", but I have a few reliably smart mouthed friends who'd just take that and run with it. Shut up, Debbie! ;-)

They were building me and Hickory a mounting block. Doesn't he just look thrilled!

Good boy Hickory for standing still while this old lady steps on.

We Now Return To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Now that I'm about a week behind sharing pictures and catching up on fun farm stuff. Sigh.

One final (I hope) thing to say about my blog and the photos and stories I share - they are here for us all to enjoy. The blog has become as much yours as mine anymore and I enjoy the friends I've made and (most of) the things I've learned along the way. One bad apple isn't going to ruin that.

I didn't change anything about how I handle these photographs. They aren't right-click protected or anything else that would only "keep honest people honest". If you want to share something, that's perfectly fine. Just please make sure you give me credit and a link back :-).

If you want to use a photo as a screen saver on your computer at work, please feel free to do so. If you want to use a picture for a project, magazine, advertising..., just drop me an email and ask.

Without further ado. Some more lambie love from Kathy's last weekend. Enjoy :-)

Guess who this is!

Here's a clue.

Blossom Rocks

What is Blossom into now?!?

This is another "test" post. Still dealing with the stolen blog content issue, but this morning it looks like while she (we have identified the person) won't respond to my attempts to contact her, she may have taken down at least some of my most recent posts. We'll see if this one shows up.

Interestingly, in trying to figure out who, what, where, when and why, I came across this interesting search result...

Uh oh. That might explain a few things ;-).

Blossom Butt

Just a quick post (I am so. far. behind.) to make sure my blog still works. It's been stolen/hijacked - content and pictures - and in trying to figure out what to do about that, I started worrying that I could be locked out of my own blog...

It has something to do with spam. More than my pea brain can wants to comprehend. If you see anything suspicious out there, please let me know.

Of course, using "Butt" in my post title is probably going to attract porn on top of everything ;-).

Creeps.

Sunday Stills - Reflections

Reflections is the challenge. For some this might mean a mirror image, others of you might want to just want to “reflect” on a certain subject.

iPhone

I thought I was going to get skunked on this week's challenge due to being otherwise occupied ;-). However, the other night the International Space Station flew over our farm and some friends were over for some lamb snorgling and we walked out to watch.

You can see the ISS by looking for a bright moving "star" booking across the sky. It's flying at 17,800 mph and the reason it looks like a star is because it's reflecting the sun.

You can check when the ISS is going to be visible in your location (and all sorts of other cool stuff) by visiting the official NASA - International Space Station site. Fascinating!

For more reflective Sunday Stills...

And yes, there will be more lamb pictures later today ;-).

Lamb Sitting

I spent most of the day over at Kathy's again. Several of Blossom's aunties (and uncles) were there so I took advantage of being able to take lamb pictures most of the day. Of course many of the pictures were of darling Baba ;-).

"Yep, it's a whole post of just me and my babysitters today."

There's nothing better than taking a nap (or a lot of naps ;-) on a rainy afternoon.

Uncle 20 :-D

And 29!

Rubber band lamb.

I love this picture.

Good ole Opal (Was she a bottle baby, Pam?) kindly letting Blossom visit her out in the field.

A nice day.
