What The...?

Saint Tim and I were walking back from the barn this morning when he stopped in his tracks, staring at the house. Now there are many reasons why someone would stop and stare at the house - usually the sheep have gotten out and are ransacking the place, Aria is out eating apples in the orchard, someone's dumped a dog... There's always the hope that a maid service has gotten lost and is cleaning our house by mistake. Those sorts of things.

Today? There was a gargoyle sitting on top of one of our chimneys.

Eli.

Of course I didn't have a camera handy, but here's a shot from yesterday so you can imagine.

He was on the far side, silhouetted in the morning sky. An impressive figure.

"Yeah, that's my office. I have a window with a great view."

"But I'm just as stealth on the ground."

"Yikes - don't take a picture of my tummy! I'm stealth!"

Eli honey, like me, you don't look like you've missed any meals.

Eli is adorable. Pretty impressive that the gargoyle could get his stealthy self all the way up to the chimney!

Eli...a full figured man if ever there was...but oh so handsome.

Looks like most of his stealth is in his tummy! Maybe he's had too many field mice for dessert?

I think I know what my Earl Grey is going to look like in a few more months! Except for the white on Earl's chin, that is. What a beautiful cat you have!

How on earth did he get up there? Did he rent a crane? By the looks of him, I'm thinking he didn't climb. lol

Now that was funny! I especially enjoyed the part about the maids cleaning your house by accident. Wouldn't that be awesome!?
