While It Lasted

Short, but sweet rain yesterday. Finally. We are dry. Not Texas or New Mexico dry, but too dry for me.

It started while I was out picking tomatoes. The rain felt so good I didn't hurry back to the house.

Eli, on the other hand, apparently had to ride it out under the Spirea bush...and didn't seem to have enjoyed it as much as I did.

Then, too soon, it was over and the sun came back out.

This is for Linda, the Queen of Rainbows. I think she could find a rainbow on a non-rainy day :-).

Just for fun I tried for a close up.

Wishing some gentles rains for everyone who needs it. And for those of you who don't, for goodness sake, send some our way!

Eli certainly looks like he didn't enjoy the rain. We had a gully washer yesterday - right after I hung out the laundry.

I especially like the thirsty sunflowers and the droplets on the pine needles, and of course the rainbow. Good capture of things far and near that benefit from the showers. (Eli probably needed a bath anyway ;-) )

We need some rain, but I'm hoping it waits until we get some grass seed sown. So I'll send it your way for awhile, but you have to promise to send it back!

I'm drowning and would gladly give you all my rain because soon it will turn to snow and I have so much to do outside before it does.

Neat shots, nothing beats a walk in the rain. Eli did look a bit annoyed at the rain, but then cats and water..... :-)

Nice photos! I like rainbows too.
I live in New Mexico and we got a gully washer yesterday. I have a lake in my arena now. There was two inches of water in the mineral block holder and the poor mineral block melted to brown water. It will dry up soon enough though.

Mentally pushing the lake in my back yard your way. Push, push, push, push, push. Ack! Now, I have a headache. LOL!

Nothing like a refreshing rain. Especially in a year when everything seems to come in extremes.

Saw your post about rain, and a flash of panic hit. I have been at the car dealers for over 2 hours, and my sprinkler has been running away on the front garden. Glad I read your post!
