World Wide Spin In Public Day

A small group of us were asked to come demonstrate spinning at the Failte Irish Import Shop in Lexington today. There was a downtown "block party" celebrating Halfway to St Patrick's Day, which seemed to be loosely primarily based as a drinking holiday.

Little did they know it was also World Wide Spin in Public Day. We were happy to oblige.

Even 20 got involved.

And he made a new friend, Christy's sheep. I don't think it would take much to get her spinning too. She watched carefully and 20 gave her some good pointers.

"That's why we're here, right?"

This is a blast from the past. Christy was spinning some of Petunia's lamb fleece. Look how dark it was!

Debbie was spinning a colorful batt from Lunabud Knits.

And I spun up some odds and ends and some of the purple batt.

"That was pretty fun! That was almost as much fun as the football game. I liked that Tunis roving that Grandma got for us. It wasn't scratchy at all. I bet those sheep get really cold up north. I was kinda warm wearing this sweater, but it'll feel real good this winter. When is it going to snow here?..." And then he fell asleep.

I hope everyone enjoyed World Wide Spin in Public/Halfway to St. Patrick's Day. I know we did.

Hey, I recognize that spot!!! So cool to see the wheels, sheep and people there; would have been fun to be a part of that. I didn't spin in public yesterday, but did spin on my mS last night.
