Extreme Barn Makeover

Part one.

The crew from Tri County Lumber is here replacing the backside of the barn.

It's long overdue, but I was being sentimental about the old boards. They are getting pretty lacy though and last winter we had to build a straw wall to keep Renny out of the draft. O-kay...

"What are they doing back there???"

They're getting a lot done, really quickly, is what they're doing. Wow! They started just before lunchtime today.

Betsy immediately joined their crew. I didn't catch the "1-800-rent cat" until I looked at the picture. Leave it to Betsy. I submitted it as a possible lolcat. I think you can go vote for it here. I couldn't think of a clever title, so hopefully they'll pick it up and add one.

I have a recipe blog started, but got sidetracked by all this today. I'll try to post it tomorrow.

Are you going to save any of the boards? I've seen some really neat things done with reclaimed barn wood

I would bet that it did not take too much pulling to get those boards down. Wise move to keep those cold winds off the sheep, and Betsy. Nice to see a female foreman in construction :-)

What a neat old barn. I hope you are saving some of that wood! Bet it is going to look great!

This all looks vaguely familiar...

So why are all the barns painted black down there while ours are red up here?

Take care of that barn. It's beautiful. I just wish I had one.

Love the photo of the CAT. Voted for you. Hope you win. It's really a funny photo.

Love the cat by the 1-800-Rent-a-Cat ... great picture. Congratulations on barn repairs, it will be like a brand new barn.

You need to think of some project to use the barn boards in.

Congrats on the makeover. "Rustic" barns are all very nice unless you're really trying to keep the outside out. Hope it all goes well and you're weatherproof again soon. NO high winds until you're buttoned up!
Love the pic of the sheep being ALL interested in what's going on.

Wow. Lot of work! Will you save the boards? They look so weathered and special.
Happy New Year to you!!

So, it seems everyone wants to know what will become of the old boards!

Like Aaron we see lots of cool stuff around here made of old barn wood, are you going to be using the old wood for something?
