We buried Miss Ewenice out back on the hill next to Miss Aria. There was a mix up at the rental shop and Saint Tim had to hand dig her grave. It was late and we were a mix of tired, sad, mad and numb. Afterwards I finished up the nightly chores, gathered up Blossom, a couple coffee cups and my camera that I had accidentally left in the barn (!) the night before and we slowly headed for the house.
The sun was setting and the yard was all in shadow. We have had such beautiful skies and sunsets all spring and I turned to look over my shoulder to look...and saw it. One remaining patch of sunlight. The only patch of sunlight in the entire yard. Under Renny and Ewenice's favorite tree.
And I took one last picture.

I am so sorry for your lose and the simply statement made by the patch of lone sunlight under a sheep's favorite tree brought tears to my eyes.
I hope you can find some peace in knowing that you gave your beloved Miss Ewenice a joyful life and in turn you got her unconditional love. They have a way of grabbing our hearts, don't they?
(((hugs)))
Iam so sorry to read of Ewenice's passing, and know that it leaves a hole in your heart.
It's a fact that these beautiful creatures are not really "livestock", but often more like "family" and I know she will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry....I am bawling as I write this. I know she had a wonderful life...for living with you would be that always. But to have one more beautiful soul pass over the rainbow bridge is very sad.
Very sad.
I love all your sheep. But you know that!
