Finally!
And some teefers here too, but they're hard to see. This is Baaxter on his way to church Sunday. He's not a big lap snuggler so I knew he wouldn't want to ride on my lap all the way like my other lambs. We set him up on the floor board of the passenger side and he settled right in and enjoyed the ride. All lambs are different, just like kids.
Sorry for all the iPhone shots, but that's the beauty of an iPhone - without it, I wouldn't have ANY of these pictures and they are all things I want to remember. If you look closely at this picture, you can see Baaxter sucking on his tongue. Sometimes when you can't have a(nother) baba, you just have to do the next best thing.
Baaxter has just been the very best baby ever. We eat breakfast, go out and play for awhile, come back to the house and he puts himself to bed...if I'm sitting on the porch with him ;-). Once he's good and asleep though, I can sneak into the house and work in there, sneak out the side door and run to the barn and check water, feed the oldies, hang laundry and then after awhile, usually a good while, I'll hear tap tap tap of his feet and a little sleepy "Mom?" and we have another baba, go out and play, rinse and repeat :-).
He's also been very helpful getting ready for the fiber festival this weekend. Here he's putting some finishing touches on the drop spindles, making sure I got them sanded well enough. He loves bouncing around up and down the stone steps, thinks the chickens are quite entertaining, likes to try to climb the tree out front...stays busy and out of trouble. Unlike some most lambs I know ;-).
Iris has official retired from lamb sitting these days, but she still likes to hang out with us in the yard. I got up for the middle of the night feeding a couple days ago and found Betsy laying in front of Baaxter's cage. She can be such a maniac in the house at night, but we've got to give her credit for being sweet to baby lambs.
Poor Baaxter, mostly nap pictures. After this weekend I'll have more time for some at home Lamb Camp.
In the meantime...at least Eli's getting enough rest.
