Escape From Del Boca Vista

As I was taking pictures of Elizabeth the other afternoon, I kept waiting for Jester to move away from the gate corner so I could take some of him as well.  He looked so sad staring out at the other sheep.

"Everyone else gets to go out and play and I'm stuck in this little paddock with a crazy old lady who yells at me all the time."

I get these mournful looks every now and then.  Sometimes he does actually want to get out of "prison" and sometimes I open the gate for him and he just keeps staring at me.  "I really just wanted a cookie."  I opened the gate.

Out he goes!

Usually when he goes out for a walk he just wants to go in the sheep stalls and see what's new.  He thought about it this time.

But headed out to pasture.

But then stopped.

And decided to come back.

"I sure wish I was back in my paddock (that I just left 3 minutes ago)."

Would you maybe like a cookie?

"Yeah, a cookie would be nice."

"Or maybe a bunch of cookies."

This is where he was politely munching on graham crackers (instead of jumping on me, Baaxter and Murphy!).

And then he happily checked back in to Del Boca Vista.

Is he sick or just keeping the Old Lady company?

He's very old, but not sick. The huge lump on his neck looks bad, but doesn't really seem to affect him very much. We'd have had it operated on years ago if we'd had any idea he was going to live this long. SO, mostly he's in there so he can have unlimited access to food that the others definitely don't need and also to keep his last original Indiana sheep friend company. I think he understands.
