The Time Of Day

I've gotten into a routine of taking 'good morning' porch pictures as I eat breakfast this summer.  They are posted on Instagram and then to Twitter and Facebook.  One of the most common comments I get on them is regarding the light.

Here are two pictures (from the camera, not phone) that really illustrate how important the time of day can be.

This is early in the morning, just after sunrise.  Notice how the light is golden and soft, filtering in from behind the trees.

Here is a very similar picture, but taken late in the afternoon with the light shining harsh on the front of the trees.  It's still an interesting picture, but more because of the subjects rather then the magic light.

Give it a try :-).
