So Hot

Heat is much harder on sheep than cold. And that's yet another reason I know I'm a sheep.  We are all miserable.  But hanging in there.

I made the mistake of sharing the following video with Saint Tim and a couple friends.  Now whenever I complain about the heat they all say "Oh, it's so hot.  So, so hot."  I'm glad I still think it's funny.  Mostly.

Enjoy :-D

Fall Snow

For anyone keeping score at home, this is actually the second snow.  Neither has been very "big", but if it snows enough that I'm excited about it, I'm counting it as a snow!  Maybe these were mildly foggy mornings back in August ;-).

I was walking around the barn trying to figure out a way to take a cell phone picture that really showed how pretty it was this morning, not having any luck, grumbling to myself, "This is one of the many bad things about not blogging enough - no good camera pictures anymore."

...um...

...hel-lo!  If you took 14 steps to the right, you could go pick up your very lonely camera from the Wool House...

...oh...yeah... (insert eye rolling emoticon)

Burrnie looks like he has a posse!

Spud in the foreground, Jared and Tavia, one of his many "girlfriends", on the left.  Jared is still quite the ladies man even after being 'tutered this summer.

From a slightly different angle.

A new favorite picture (and puzzle :-).  I couldn't have captured the colors this well with my phone, hel-LO!  Sigh...

I took about 20 pictures of Muffin eating a leaf.  Want to see them?  Oh, Muuufffiin ;-).

"Muffin, Muffin, Muffin.  Who wants to see a billion pictures of Muffin eating a stupid leaf!"

Fine Fall Day

We've had a couple stunner days this week.  Twice I sat down out in the barn and just enjoyed it.  Both days Muffin laid down, curled up next to me.  Treasured memories for sure.

Hours Of Nonstop Entertainment

I was out in the barn yesterday evening when all the sheep headed out for a last bit of grazing.  Nothing unusual about that until Daniel walked out...with the Sheep Chicken on his back.

While several of the sheep will actually carry the chicken straight over to the wall where her night perch is located, Daniel is apparently not one.  Oh, he's happy to let the chicken surf from his back to another sheep's back, but if he has to mastermind the complete trip...

"I thought the chicken was supposed to stay back in the barn."

Spud, far left, looks like he's telling Daniel he did it wrong.  Spud is one of the best chicken transport sheep.

"Yes, I realize that now Spud!"

"You made a new puzzle from that picture?"

"For crying out loud.  This just gets worse and worse."

"Um..."

"I have a chicken on my back."

"I have a chicken on my back."

"A little help here, lady?!?"

"I have a chicken on my back."

"Come here, Big D, and I'll take the chicken in for you."

He might not understand how to get the chicken put to bed properly, but he does know he can walk over to me and I'll fix it...after I take a few pictures ;-).

Sharing Some Spud Love

I lucked into several days of good blog fodder today!  I'll start with these sweet pictures of Spud and June sharing some love :-).

I couldn't resist - two new puzzles!

Un-Yarning Along

I'm a firm believer in setting yourself up to succeed...but I only let myself knit at night, after dinner, when I'm tired.  It was 63 degrees today.  I worked until 4:00 and grabbed my knitting bag and headed for the Grahaminator (my favorite knitting spot).  Getting such an early start I was sure to go far.  And I did.

And then I noticed that I'd doubled up a row the night before...and had to frog four rows.  Four rows on a hat is no big deal to most knitters, but I'm a Slow Knitter.  Nothing else to do though.  And then June rolled over on her back looking like my knitting was killing her...and I had to laugh.

At least the scenery was nice :-).

I think I'm back on track, but I'll give it a good double check tonight after dinner.  I decided to have a margarita.  That can only help, right?

I'm currently listening to The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald.  It's taken me a bit to get into it, but it's starting to get interesting.

Warm Winter Sun

It can be way down in the teens, even single digits, and as long as it's not windy and the sun is shining, it feels warm to me. Some more pictures from the Del Boca Vista Distraction Party the other day.

Maisie

Heidi - who's foot is all better now since I popped a big mud ball from between her toes after the Boxing Day cookie party :-).

That is Muffin (!) standing just to the right of Levi in the foreground.

A little slice of heaven...and two new puzzles :-).

2017 Hug A Sheep Day Party - Wrap Up

Amy took so many great pictures.  Here are some more favorites.

Looking at this picture you'd think Biscuit was Mrs. Pepperpot's baby and Muffin was the adopted kid.  While both Pepperpot and Biscuit enjoyed eating cookies, Muffin LOVED Hug a Sheep Day.

I've had a couple questions about the dog biscuits.  Even though Chocula and Murphy would probably eat dog biscuits, those were for Hank, June, Kate and Weaslie ;-).

And while it wasn't actually quite this dark and ominous, it was that cold.

But the Wool House was toasty and there was a heated contest with the Lego Sheep Shearing game including some people (not pictured here) later in the day who may or may not have cheated a bit ;-).

Back in the barn.  Neither Biscuit or Pepperpot volunteered for a second or third tour of duty, but Muffin happily marched back in.  Little kids?  That might have cookies?  No problem!

Two sweet little girls...and Woody, trying to steal their cookies!

Woody!

It looks like Woody and Murphy know they are being upstaged by Miss Personality ;-).

Tilly and Kate:  "Is it over?"

Nope, a couple more fun friends braved the cold.

Poor grumpy Spud didn't want to have his picture taken.  That beautiful yarn is his.  He could have shown a little more enthusiasm :-o.  Kids...

All in all it turned out to be a very nice day to hug some sheep.  Feed some sheep some cookies.  Get mugged by sheep for cookies.  Or just watch sheep out in the field.  A huge thank you to everyone who came out and a super huge thank you to Amy for taking so many fun pictures for everyone who had to hug/feed/get mugged vicariously :-).

Remember - every day is a great day to hug a sheep!
