The Goodwill Lamb Tour

I lost a very special bottle lamb (they're all special) a few years ago and a good friend wrote me,

"Think of all the people he made happy on his goodwill lamb tour-he brought a lot of joy to everyone he met. I believe God sends some of us extra special animals who don't have a lot of time on this earth and we give them all that extra love they need before they go."

Another very loved lamb has left the goodwill lamb tour.

The real princess at the summer birthday bash.

I just stumbled upon your blog. I'm very sorry for your loss. I just lost twin goat kids this past weekend when mom had to have a c-section. It's so hard to lose such pure little souls. Your friend's quote says it all. Amazing how much good these little ones can do in such a short time.

My condolences to you and your family. Sunshine surely did bring joy and humor for the short while she was with you. I enjoyed looking at her pictures again. I first met you as you were waiting for her to be born. So she is forever linked with my gettin to know you and your sheep family. My prayers were for you to night at the church service to find peace in your sorrow.

I am SO sorry!
I know how much you loved that little Angel. She was truly blessed to have been born into your flock ~ no one else would have ever given her a chance.

I'm sure there's a special place in Heaven for you and Sunshine will be there to greet you!

I am really sad to hear that your Sunshine is gone. I know that she was greatly loved and fortunate to have lived her life out on your farm where she was given such good care and so much love.

Sunshine would never have had a life if not for you. I know your heart hurts beyond belief. I wish I could make it all better, take all this pain away. I am so sorry. she touched so many of us...just blessed that I got to meet her in person and keep up with her adventures through your magical words.

Sunshine will be missed by us all. I looked at all her pictures again last night too. Let's hope St. Francis is waiting with a box of 'nilla wafers for her.

Your friend is so correct. I think there are certain little souls that aren't meant to be here long, and they flood our days with 'Sunshine'. My heart goes out to you in your loss. I know how heartbreaking this is.
Take care,
Tammy

I've cried until my face is raw. The weather this morning is equally raw. I'm glad her last day was spent in the shade on a sunny day. We buried her down by the creek and planted a sweet shrub over her.

I remember a story Tim Russert told in his book about a good friend losing a child. He said (something to this effect) "if you'd gotten to know up front you'd only have 11 years, you'd have still taken it, and so would your son." I think Sunshine would have taken it, too.

She was a wonderful, brave, sweet, funny little lamb. I just wish I'd known that last day she would still eat cookies and I'd have let her eat the whole damn box.

I am so very sorry! My heart is very sad for your loss as I know this is your family. I fell in love with Sunshine when I first saw her picture and talked to you at the Kentucky Wool Festival. I know it is crazy, but through your personal emails and your farm blogs, I felt like Sunshine was my lamb too. I have her picture in my sewing room and I read the blogs faithfully, especially when it was something about her. I believe that special animals are a gift from God to enrich our lives. So what can I say except "WELL DONE SUNSHINE".
I'll be thinking of you.

Sunshine will live on, not just for you, but also for all who read your blog. She was a special little girl and a lucky one to have been born at your farm. When Pauladeen died, I honestly considered selling the sheep because I didn't want to go through the loss anymore. But, now I have new "characters', who are special to me, and I am able to remember happy memories of Pauladeen.Time will help. You did a heroic job of giving her a good life while she was here.

I love that Tim Russert quote. I'm glad at least that you were the one that got to know her and fully appreciate how special she was!

Oh, Sara! I am so sorry, so very sorry! First Boo and now Sunshine! I prayed for SUnshines recovery, and for you all night. My heart is heavy and sad. Animals are such beautiful souls, no one knows that doesn't get close to them, but those of us who do know and understand the spirit that lives in thier bodies.

I am so very sorry, Dear Friend.

My heart goes out to you and so do my prayers. I become so emotional attached to my animals esp. since I have no 2 legged children. Her name only speaks volumes for the love you had for her. May her memories always bring you a ray of sunshine:)
