Hank

I walked out of the wool house this afternoon and, as always, did a quick head count. The main flock was all out in the big field looking for any tiny shoots of green grass (still too early) they might find. Keebler was off by himself. Graham was in between Keebs and the rest of the sheep. I have faith that Graham Lamb will eventually become a real sheep...and faith that the Keebster won't ;-). No Hank. Hmmm. Hank is always with his boys.

I walked over to the fence and looked down the creek. No Hank. Up to the barn. No Hank. Wait, is that him in the very back of one of the run in stalls overlooking the front field? Yep. He was completely cashed out, resting up for the night shift. I tiptoed away. Him sleeping reminded me of a picture I took back in the big snow that I'd forgotten to post.

If you click to biggify, you'll see a couple tiny drops of water on his eyelashes.

Precious.

That was one pooped-out pooch!!!! I am happy that you found him safe and sound. Now he will be ready for sentry duty tonight. Great capture of the droplets on the eyelashes!

Neat photo - I would love to have a "Hank" on guard duty at night or even two. We have so many coyotes around I would worry about one dog out alone.

Great shot! Willa usually takes a big snooze shortly after her morning romp with Bandit.

Oh how sweet I want a Hank one day too. Do you ever groom him I've seen GP that are a matted up mess and even need to be shaved. I saw an ad for a neutered male in the paper and was tempted. My guess he was someone's pet that outgrew city living.

We have had several de-burring sessions so far and I'm guessing he'll need some grooming this spring when he starts to shed. I too have seen some pretty matted up fuzzy dogs and sure don't want to let that happen to handsome Hank ;-).

Had me scared there for minute. I thought maybe something had happened to Hank.

I love the photo, you camera captured the droplets just right.
