Farm Friends Friday - Mia

Little Mia has always been little. Very petite. A "primitive" Jacob. She's not an aggressive eater, prefers to eat vanilla wafers over nutritional ewe nuggets, get easily distracted when she's supposed to be eating by the thought I might have vanilla wafers in my pocket...

At a year old now, with green grass abounding, she should be starting to look like the rest of the sheep around here. Ewes not fat, ewes just fluffy. Or just fat.

I let her and old Elizabeth (the only other sheep on this farm that needs any extra food) slip into the barn every morning for extras. Elizabeth eats and then hollers at me (her standard MO) to go back out with her friends.

Mia? Mia's an explorer.

"Go around to the back door, Mia."

"Hey, so this is the cat box everyone was so grumpy about the other day."

Actually, she'd not know if the barn cats were grumpy about anything BECAUSE THE BARN CATS DON'T LIVE IN THE BARN!

"And blankets on chairs???"

"And flowers, straight for the taking."

"MIA!!!"

And then she marched right in the kitchen like she grew up here. She didn't. And the kitchen is so lonely that I almost let her stay.

"Hey, they gots flowers in here too!"

And all I really wanted was a picture of one of the lilac Jacobs posing in front of the lilac bush.

"Get that out of your mouth!!!"

To meet some more Farm Friends...

great post, as usual! I love Jacob sheep, but no little of them other than the legend of their name. And what is a lilac Jacob? I'll have to look into it. I love Mia's spots! And she looks like the kind of sheep that knows how to have some fun!

In 25 words or less, lilac Jacobs are brown and white instead of black and white. I think I have a post I can link back to about that.

oh I see! The handful I've seen in person were mostly dark brown (which was probably sun bleached black).

I can't believe your lilac bush is in full bloom! Ours isn't even hinting at it. I usually miss it's bloom 'cause I'm in your part of the country at that time of year, but one year I stayed home and had no idea how beautiful they are and that smell...!

If I could keep my sheep in my house I would hehe!! DH says NO. You must keep a broom handy for little clean ups :-)

Mia has the most beautiful horns.

So cute! I hate to admit that I let the baby goats in the kitchen to have their bottles in the morning. They would actually stand by the microwave while the milk warmed up! No more though, they are too big.

Mia seems like quite the girl! Perhaps she suffers from ADHD! You captured such cute pictures of her exploring. I wonder if she'll be a better eater as she gets older and isn't as easily distracted.

Mia heard braggin' stories from Keebler about how he used to live in the kitchen and be bottle fed and all, and how he could have all the cookies he wanted, asparagus, flowers unlimited, and sleep on the cushioned porch chairs when the weather was nice. She wanted to see if it was true.
It was. You spoiled him.
Frankly, if Mia can cook or do dishes, she can stay in my kitchen anytime.
Give her hugs for being so cute!

Love what Alice had to say... Ditto here! :D Excellent post, and Mia is beautiful with such a fun personality. Both are the best of the Jacob world. ;)

How cute! I have a couple of goats that get the special treatment of eating in the duck/peacock pen. They don't get to come browse in the house though! Well, not right now.
