I was hoping to be able to post a fun video of me riding Hickory on a Thanksgiving trail ride, 7MSN style. Instead, here's what I got.
Yes, I was having a stroke worrying Hank was going to get run over, kicked or otherwise caught up in the fray. Yes, I moved the sheep out of Hickory's field today, not because I was worried Hickory would hurt them, but Hank's obviously not convinced (his sheep were up at the barn watching the show). Definitely not worth the risk.
However, all's well that ends well and it's fun to watch Hickoryput huge divots all over the field ripping around enjoying himself. And I'm glad he cut loose when I wasn't on him....although maybe he could have saved a little bit of that energy for later ;-). We had a nice ride - sorry, no video - and after I turned him back out I found a four leaf clover (in late November?!?).

What I miss most about not having horses anymore, is not being able to watch them run in the fields.

I think Hank was just doing what he always does... keeping everything under control.
Hickory was "feeling his oats" and it's so wonderful to see horses do this. Now I know where the expression comes from.

I think Hickory was disappointed that the other horses didn't want to play.
That Hickory is feeling his cheerios! He just does not understand that Hank is the boss.

The neighbor's dog chased the Clydes...for about 30 seconds. The Clydes turned and chased him! I was very thankful the didn't hurt him. The dog stays away now.
What a happy horse. Hank didn't really look too peeved, just 'helping' Hickory get back to where he belonged. No damage done - yet another thing to be thankful for.
Nice of Hank to contain Hickory's joie de vivre and show him the boundary of his new domain. Your four leaf clover confirms how lucky you are to have each other.
That was fun watching Hickory run wildly around the pasture.. I could actually see his breath in the air. Must be cold there.. Hank did a great job~! Glad he didn't get hurt..

Yup... I'd prefer not to be on the horse at that time.
