Okay, So It Didn't Kill Me

And there's some great footage of our farm and family and they kindly left out the footage of Graham nearly knocking down a $60,000 camera :-).

The Christmas episode of Kentucky Life aired on TV last night. We were away at my parent's 50th anniversary party, but when some messages started coming in about the segment being good, I was relieved, but not too surprised. I knew producer Valerie Trimble would take good care of us.

I really enjoyed working with the entired KET crew. They did a great job putting me and Hank and all of the sheep (except the New York "mafia", apparently hiding out here as part of the Witless Protection Program ;-) at ease. They even shared some handy photography and video tips. It actually was pretty fun.

Update - you can disregard all the instructions below. I think. Here's a direct link that should work.

The show will air again here locally another time or two (schedule), but is also online. Go to http://www.ket.org/kentuckylife/, click on Program 1709 (circled on the screen shot above).

You'll then need to click on Schedule (see screen shot above) and the scroll down in the pop up box to episode 1709 and then click the little eye icon (circled above).

Kentucky Life is an excellent program. I wasn't really familiar with it (?!?) until this all came about, but have started DVRing each episode and am really enjoying learning all sorts of neat stuff about Kentucky and the interesting people living here. To be included in one of the shows? I don't know what to say. Wow.

Oh -- wow -- had to stop what I was doing and watch the segment. So cool Sara. So good to see the closeups of the animals I have come to know and love through your blog. Still working on my own Renny projects -- will share when done.

As always -- GO PACK!

I want to wish you and Saint Tim a very merry and blessed Christmas and the happiest of new years.

They sure did capture the feeling of the farm and the animal's personalities. And you did a great interview!

What an awesome segment on your talent and the farm. It was a great interview - you sounded like you do that all the time. The critters were all perfectly photogenic, including Hank giving mom some kisses. Way to go - you won't be able to keep the cards on the shelves!

Very cool videography of the farm, the animals, and you! I loved all the settings, your different sweaters, Sara in action! Kudos for giving Tim ups on the naming rights . . . (doesn't he name many of the animals as well?) You both have a way with words, and frequently make us laugh.

We'll miss you this Christmas. Play well, take care of the Farm Life, and have a very happy Christmas.

Great job!! The interview looked like you had been doing it your whole life. I loved how they got so many of the family in the segment....except camera-shy St. Tim.

The cards, and the explanation of how they come about, really gave watchers a handle on why the blog is so popular, and folks regard the animals so personally.

Merry Christmas to one and all!!

I echo what has already been said. Loved the presentation, the sweaters, the wonderful quality of the entire filming production. Kudos to you and KET for sharing this with us.
Merry Christmas!

Im going to go all reversal ~

You do a great job on this blog of yours capturing the essence of what Punkin's Patch is all about - the writing, the photography, the herd dynamics of the farm - and the KY clip just confirmed that!

Peter and I loved this!! It was so much fun to learn the history behind your awesome Christmas cards and the KET crew did a great job capturing a slice of your world. Of course it helped that you were so relaxed, natural and completely engaging. Not bad for your first "TV Special"!

We'll miss you at Christmas! Give Comby a hug from Gunky :)
