Sunday Stills - The Elements

Earth, air, water and fire...and see if you can catch all in one photo for a real challenge.

Saint Tim had recently found a huge sycamore tree that had blown over in the Licking River, just outside of town. Fairly easily covers earth, wind and water. We briefly thought about setting it on fire for the grand slam, but decided I should just go with a neat car shot I'd gotten at the Street Rod Nationals this past week in Louisville, Kentucky.

You'd never find a street rod driving in this mud, but that's where a farm truck comes in handy. I liked all the tracks in this silty mud at the boat launch.

A reflection of the sky - looks almost like an impressionist painting.

Here's the tree. I was surprised (and honestly a little happy) to see the leaves already starting to change. Definitely better to let mother nature create the illusion of fire, eh?

Thank you Saint Tim for taking me out in the boat yesterday morning. What a very nice way to start the day. The fifth element...love.

For more Sunday Stills.

You seem to have captured the quiet drama of the elements upon the earth in your land/water photos. I was amazed at the impressionist photo when I biggified it. It is better appreciated for it's creativity that way. And of course your last line is very touching.

Thought I'd gone to the wrong blog seeing your car shot! But that one's very neat! I also loved the little bird tracks on the mud shot when I did biggify! Glad Tim took you out in the boat, those shots are gorgeous as well! And love is the greatest thing in the whole universe!
