It's A Shame They Aren't Friendly

An interesting day today. Some folks from KET (Kentucky Educational Television) came out to get some sheep footage for an upcoming show.

Hank is agreeable to most anything, but tends not to be too chummy with strangers. And if a stranger were to get too close to me or his sheep with a big microphone or something, I'm not sure he wouldn't "give somebody the business". He's very protective of us all, so we of course ran everything past him first.

And he proceeded to bite the sound guy.

Just kidding. He loved Roger and was just playing with him in the picture above. In fact, they played quite a bit and Hank even did his tricks (sit and shake paws) for him too. Over and over. I love that dog.

Betsy, on the other hand, not so helpful akshully.

Betsy, Betsy, Betsy.

"Is that cat bothering you, ma'am?"

Sherman wasn't much better, but was WAY better than Graham Lamb.

We all know Graham's infatuation with anything that he thinks might be useful somewhere down the line. We weren't sure if he was more interested in the expensive tripod or the expensive camera, but there are now some permanent teeth marks on that tripod and the videographer thought that was "cute".

Right.

Miss Ewenice loved Roger as well and was happy to oversee production.

"Why yes, I am the queen of the farm."

"Huh? You're going to stop talking to me to talk to that goofy bug eyed sheep?"

"Oh, good grief. I'm leaving."

"Am I really going to be on tv?"

If you'll notice, there are no pictures of Graham. None. When we stopped to think about it, we were all stumped how that could have happened with as much "time" as he spent with us.

While the truth of the matter is probably that every time he came close, everyone was busy grabbing all the equipment so he couldn't get to it. The more popular theory is he just made sure there was no photographic evidence of any wrong doing. Much like Dracula I suppose.

It is getting close to Halloween...

Wonderful! This brings to mind,
"I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille."
They all acted like old pros in show business.
This was really cute. Glad all went well.

Can you believe that Renny?!? She's turned into a lovebug and a ham! A true testament to your care and love, Sara.

No Hickory-Dickory-Dock?

Maybe your sheep are just pigs in wool clothing because they sure know how to “ham” it up.
(Hey, I’m with Michelle on this one)
While Ewenice may be the queen of her sheepdom, Betsy is definitely a princess in the pasture. You need lots of land just to make room for all of their egos ;-)
Sheep with character! Indeed!

How cute...the sheep seem so curious and loving...just like cats and dogs! Your comment made me laugh about Hank and the sound guy. You'll have to let us know when the article is finished. I'm sure we'll be able to access it on the web, right?

That's actually B. Willard, not Renny. Much too skinny to be Renny ;-). Renny did hang out with us quite a bit though. Not scared of a thing.

Too funny. I'm surprised they could get any footage at all other than extreme closeups!

The whole 10 days at Billie Creek I had to explain over and over that, "Yes, sheep really are friendly not just this one."

LOVE the one of Shermy with his nose up the lens! And those folks didn't even have cookies!! Maybe the sheep heard about "Hug a Sheep" day, and thought that was it!?! But then, at Equinox Farm, EVERY day is Hug a Sheep day.

KET? Is this going to be part of a program? Did they say when?

Great photo shoot! That is basically how it would go at our place too.

Well, I never would think sheep love attention and cameras so much! I guess that's because I have goats, not sheep. But maybe a sheep like Miss Ewenice one day...

Always something fun going on over here!

Would love to see Miss Ewenice and her glam queen shots! Any chance we will get to see the KET footage?

Please be sure to let us know where we can view the video when it's ready!
This is a great post. What fun! You can see the magic reflected in the faces of the tv crew.

I have found sheep to be incredibly nosy, er, curious. Mine are in my business every step of the way - it's like wading through cement - or pushing string - take your choice. Wonderful pictures - it looked like a fun day for all involved. Hank is a large sweetie.

That's great! Can't wait to see it! It seems sheep are a lot like goats when it comes to being nosy. lol

Love that Hank! Smart enough to know what clearly isn't a threat even when it's strangers with strange equipment. Tell us where/when to view the video. Can't wait to see the CLOSE-ups!

your sheep are so social! They look like they thuroughly enjoyed the visit.

Just saw the Twitter about the camera. GL was probably trying to figure out how to steal it so he could hock it and go buy a truck.

Hank is the best!! And the farm & sheep looked very picturesque. That crew knew how to choose their sheep shot :)

You have the nosiest most fun sheep. The dialouge accompanying the photos is always so fun. I can almost hear the sheep....
