Sigh

"Whaddya mean what's wrong with my face?  Your face don't look so good this morning either!"

Usually going up to the barn in the morning is a highlight of my day.  After something awful happens, it takes awhile for the dread to dissipate.  The trudge out there throughout the day expecting/looking for the worst is exhausting.  This morning I found Graham Lamb with a swollen "black" eye.  I didn't need that.

With all the straw covering one side of his big body, I'm assuming he got cast last night - he'd laid down and couldn't get back up for some reason.  I couldn't find anything that he could have gotten stuck on or under, but did find a big divot in the straw next to one of the walls, probably where he banged his head around.  Of course, being Graham Lamb...you almost have to wonder if maybe someone finally gave him a little of what he had, um, coming to him ;-).

"Yeah, well you should see the other guy!"

Seriously, I feel awful that he was in some sort of situation (probably not a fight...but we really can't say for sure ;-) in the middle of the night and no one was there to help.   Things like this take away a little of the fun of shepherding.  We pick on Graham a right smart amount, but really, he's one of our/everyone's/even Hank's favorite sheep.

P.S.  f I find out you got hurt falling off the Grahaminator2000...

I was afraid it was something bad when I saw the headline. Please let me know how he goes...I hope he heals fast.
