I Like These Birds Better

Welcomed guests at the wool house.

I, of course, did not have my zoom lens. I'm not exactly sure what a camera bag is for...if you never actually carry it. Apparently I'll never learn.

And I still love the stupid Adventure Chickens. However, with the price of chicken feed these days, if I have to go BUY eggs from my neighbor...

I just love being the laughing stock of the neighborhood.

Wow! Love that first picture-especially seeing that ruby throat. Hummingbirds have been scarce around here this summer. Don't know why. I think what you need to complete your bird population is some peafowl. I know where you can get some!!

Just caught up on the past few days of your blog. Thanks for not posting photos of the fly experience. I so love you studio set up...it is ideal.

The thing about having a good camera with lenses...I don't want to take it with me everywhere to get messed up (not that I have what I want yet). Mine is with me in the barn, on the lawn tractor...everywhere I go.

Nice photos.

The hummingbird pictures are just fine if you biggify them. The dew/condensation on the feeder is even quite apparent. Good shots with whatever technique you used!

After my horses went to a new home, I increased my laying flock from 12 to over 70. Crazy? Well, the eggs sold faster than the chickens could lay them! So fast that one day I actually did have to go to town to buy a dozen of those store-bought-can't-find-a-decent-dozen-to-save-your-soul eggs for a recipe.
When we had ideas of moving into town (I know...we were weak minded back then) and all the chicken dander made my sleeping asthma wake up, I gave them all to 4H kids. After a bit, and having to try to find good eggs, I decided I was crazy not to have chickens again.
So...long story short - you are NOT crazy and you're not alone in having to find eggs elsewhere. heeheehee

Nice photos!
Get an 18-200mm lens, that will do just fine for normal and everyday zoom shots.

Love the pictures! I just put up a hummingbird feeder and have been having fun taking some pictures. Do you find the males harder to catch? They seem to be in and out faster than the females.

Yes, chicken feed can be costly over time, BUT....the personal therapy that comes from watching chickens or holding one on your lap....priceless!

Please keep the zoom lense within arms reach, good photo's anyway though.
