Just Another Day On The Iknitarod Trail

Just a quick post. And picture heavy. But most of the pictures are of Maisie so I doubt anyone's going to call the blogging police ;-).

Started out frosty.  This is a fence plank.

But rapidly warmed up into a day warm enough to sit outside.  A little chilly for knitting, but I got several rows added.  Even if it doesn't look like it.  I am an excruciatingly slow knitter.  I'm trying not to let that get me down.

I think Maisie and Hickory have a thing.

Eli just about lost a "thing" ;-).

After almost an hour of grazing together, they decided to go their separate ways.

And Maisie came a' running.

This is a classic Maisie face.  One ear back and I swear she has one eyebrow raised.

She inspected the knitting.  No baba here.

So she ran back to the porch and spent several minutes giving me the eyebrow until I finally caved and went inside and warmed up a tiny baba.  She ain't never gonna get weaned at this rate...

But that made her happy and she decided to take a short nap with me, Iris, Weaslie and Eli.  And then it started to get cloudy, and the temp started dropping and I realized I'd messed up something in the lace section and I was about 95% sure I wasn't smart enough to fix that...

So I made 20 rip those stitches out. I couldn't watch.  But, between the two of us, we figured out how to recreate that panel and were back on course.  I was thrilled.  And luckily we did, because I made two more mistakes that needed to be fixed tonight.  Nothing serious...now that I know how to do it...but still slowing me down.

I made it through row 33, so 13 rows today.  Shooting for 20 rows tomorrow.  I have an easier set for awhile tomorrow and I'm hoping I can pick up some speed. Of course every other row adds 8 stitches, so that's not helping me much.

Knit on with confidence!
